What makes Tamegroute instantly recognisable is its signature glaze, a luminous, mottled green produced from a rare combination of manganese and copper oxide minerals found locally. No two pieces share exactly the same finish; the glaze pools, drips and settles differently in every firing, creating depth and character that is impossible to replicate industrially.
The clay itself is coarse and earthy, hand-thrown on traditional wheels and fired in wood-burning kilns. The resulting texture is beautifully imperfect — tactile, weighty, and grounded.
As candlelight flickers through the glaze, the green shifts and glows — from deep forest to soft jade — casting a warm, atmospheric light that transforms any space.
Style notes: Tamegroute pairs beautifully with natural linen, raw wood, terracotta and brass. At home on a dining table, mantelpiece or windowsill.
A piece of living Moroccan heritage — functional, sculptural, and full of story.
Care:Hand wash recommended. Due to the handmade nature of the pottery, slight variations and natural imperfections are to be expected and celebrated as part of its authentic charm.
